Education, Training, & Experience

 

Education

Sonya has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Doctor of Psychology degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.

 

Training

Sonya completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship in Child and Adolescent Psychology and a postdoctoral residency in Co-Occurring Disorders.

Sonya has completed the Level 1 Training of Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Experience

Prior to entering private practice, Sonya worked in a variety of clinical settings including an inpatient psychiatric hospital, community mental health centers, and residential addiction treatment.  Sonya has also served as a clinical supervisor for predoctoral interns and postdoctoral residents at an APA-accredited internship site and she has several years of experience as an adjunct professor in co-occurring disorders

Licensure

Sonya is a licensed psychologist in Minnesota (LP #6199).

Sonya has met the requirements to practice telepsychology under the authority of PSYPACT (APIT Mobility #9309).
